Local knowledge from Donkeys Arse on getting to Hope that night:
"Annual car show on the Monday 21st June at the Travelers Rest. Traffic last year as awful, so the best way to Hope (from the A57) will be round the back via the actual Yorkshire Bridge, Thornhill, and Aston. Last year, we queued pretty much from the Marquis of Granby traffic lights, so the Yorkshire-bridge, Thornhill, Aston route will probably be best for people coming through Hathersage as well. "
